Practice what you preach?

This image was taken at 6:58 a.m. when I had just finished working out. Yes. This means I got started in the five o' clock hour.

Question:

Do I love working out? No, I do not. Do I really even like working out? Uuuhhh, negatory.

Or as Bob R. would say, "I very don't."

Or as that lady that went off that day in the airport said, "Hells naw!"

But still. . . I do it, though. One part because I know it's good for me.  And two parts because I know that I tell other people every day that they should.

Okay, that's all I got today.

Happy Friday.

  1. Can we all also admit that vanity plays a part in the psyche of most who work out? As my aerobic instructor says "no one woke up this morning thinking I'm going to go to the gym to be a better person in my heart. Admit it People you want to stay delicious!". Yes he says delicious!

  2. About 12 years ago I hurt my back. At the time I had a 3 year old son and as much as my back hurt it hurt me more that I could not pick him up. I was in physical therapy for about 4 months. I'm fine now and my back is great but it was a wake up call that I really needed to take extra good care of myself and that meant exercise. I try very hard to always do 3x a week and some how I can do 4 or 5 if I remind myself I have to do this because I want to be healthy for my son and my family.

Whatever time works just get out and do it. And doesn't it feel good afterwords?

  3. I don't like working out... so I don't. But maybe it won't be so bad if I know I don't HAVE to like it; just do it because it's good for me.

  4. Steph- I'm trying, lady!

Ellen- That's a good reason to stay fit!

Phoenix-- My sister loves working out, but I didn't get that gene!

Anon-- I recently cut bread (mostly) out of my diet and my mantra has been, "I like fitting in my clothes more than I like bread!" But seriously, if weight hasn't been a major issue for you, vanity isn't really what gets you moving. At least not consistently. . . . .but I do love your aerobics instructor, though! I wanna be delicious!!
