Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monster's gone,
He's on the run and your daddy's here,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy
Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy
Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both,
Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go
But in the meantime,
Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While you're busy making other plans,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy

Beloved Isaiah,
You said this day was my day, too. Yes, it is your birthday, but it is also the first day that I got to be a mom. That is just like you to give a piece of that joy away. You were only four years old when you told me that. But even today, on your seventh birthday, I still remember.
When you turned five, just before you fell asleep that night you peered over the covers at me with those same eyes in the picture above. And in that way that only you can, you said to me, "I feel so special." I never forgot that either.
When you turned six you looked in my eyes early that morning and said these words to me, "Aren't you glad that God trusted you to take care of me?"
Today, on your seventh birthday and my seventh mommy-versary that answer continues to be yes, my beautiful boy. Better yet. . .yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes to every beautiful year with you, my beautiful, beautiful boy.
